Please keep the fuel coming! We could still use funds to cover commercial vehicle insurance - $600 and motel rooms - $550. Our campaign goes until March 14.

On Friday March 16th we, The Mad Maggies take off for an eight city tour of the Pacific Northwest. We’ll be traveling ten days and will cover 2500 miles or so. We are doing it on a shoestring budget. Our project is to raise funds for fuel.
We are renting a Sprinter diesel van because it is smarter/greener to have us all in one vehicle. Also it has space for large items such as upright bass, tuba, bari sax, nesting drum kit and the rest of our musical gear plus luggage for 8-9 people. This van has excellent gas mileage around 22-24mpg. Diesel is around $4.00 a gallon so we are looking at approximately $500 for gas.
We are very excited about sharing our music with heretofore unsuspecting residents of Washington and Oregon. This is the first chance we've had in our 8 years of existence to play those states.
Q. With all the pulls on your purse strings and all the pressing problems in the world you may ask, "Why fund a few crazy musicians heading out on a tour? "
A. If you think like we do, music, especially live music, simply makes life better. It’s our joy as musicians to play for you live. Gives us all a few hours to hang out and relax, whoop it up and forget all those pulls and problems. If we happily receive more support from you than our project goal then those funds will go first to $600 worth of commercial auto insurance and then to $550 for motel costs. (3 venues have graciously arranged lodging for us, 3 nights will be staying with friends, the other 3 nights we will be staying in budget motels.) Any over that will go to the van rental.
